MY FATHER'S DEATH SONG
(From His Suicide Note)

Though man is of dust and to dust returns
— as now I return me to dust —
let this little breath-space that remains,
this wondrous momentary passing,
be enough,
enough to light this unrelenting dark,
to quench this sad undying flame.
