Nature's Revelations: God Speaks Through Beauty
Poetry by Gill Schwartz
THE LOVE OF THE MOON FOR THE SUN
New Moon on the Winter Solstice
"I am your mistress and your minion,
and will forget my place as your sister and wife
that I may serve you more.
From your Light alone do I draw life.
In adoration, I sacrifice the warmth of your golden face
and offer myself to reflect your radiance
that I may carry your light where your cannot go.
I will carry the solace of your message
in the dark lands where dream abound,
my husband, my brother, my source, I will serve thee.
"Even now, in my heavenly passion for you,
I answer your call from my own place of fullness
— being furthest from you — to retrace through my phases
and come to sweetly merge with your Dark of the Year."
